Keynote Speakers

Simone Robbers

Assistant Governor and General Manager of Governance, Strategy and Corporate Relations, Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Simone is Assistant Governor and General Manager of Governance, Strategy and Corporate Relations. She is responsible for the Bank’s strategic planning and performance function, communications, legal, risk and audit teams, and the Board secretariat.

Simone is also responsible for leading and co-ordinating bank-wide strategies including Climate change, Te Ao Māori and South Pacific remittances.

Simone brings with her a wealth of public and private sector experience, most recently successfully managing the role of Director of Strategy, Risk and Assurance at the Financial Markets Authority, as well as previous experience with the Securities Commission and in the private sector in banking and wealth management, and legal firms.

Ajit Dayal

Founder, Quantum Advisors, India

Ajit Dayal is the founder of Quantum Advisors Private Ltd., India’s first institutional equity research house. He was instrumental in launching India’s first direct-to-investor mutual fund, Quantum Mutual Funds, in 2006.

Ajit has over 35 years of experience in asset management, financial research and analysis, and has worked with leading US and UK financial advisory and asset management firms as a key member of the executive management team or as a joint venture partner. Ajit is a board member of Pacific Pension & Investment Institute, a US-based not-for-profit whose members represent USD 25 trillion in AuM.

From 1999 to 2004, Ajit was the Deputy CEO and Deputy CIO of Hansberger Global Investors, Inc. and a lead manager on the Vanguard International Value Fund.  Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of UTI Investment Advisory Services Limited, the Delaware-based investment advisor of the India Growth Fund, a closed-ended fund listed on the NYSE.

He also served as a founder and director of Equitymaster and PersonalFn which, since 1996, have helped retail investors make informed investment decisions. He remains a significant shareholder but no longer on the boards. In 2000, he founded HelpYourNGO to bring transparency and funding for NGOs; in 2012 he started Natural Streets for the Performing Arts (NSPA) to support street performers and bring art to the people. In 2018, HelpYourNGO launched the award-winning and pioneering Systematic Giving Plan and YourRedButton to allow investors in mutual funds to create a long-term stream of donation with one click.

Eloy Lindeijer

Former Chief Investment Management of PGGM, Advisor to AGMinfo, Board Member Global Impact Investment Network and Trustee of the Van Leer Group.

Eloy Lindeijer is a Dutch asset management expert and former central banker. He has a passion for driving real change at scale through better governance, impact investing and catalytic partnerships. He is an advisor to AGMinfo (www.AGMinfo.info), board member of the Global Impact Investment Network (www.thegiin.org) and trustee of the Van Leer Group (www.vanleergroup.org).

Eloy served as Chief Investment Management of PGGM for nine years (2011-2020), a Netherlands pension service provider for 4.4 million people and with € 250 billion in assets under management. Prior to PGGM, Eloy was a central banker for over 20 years. He was the director of Financial Markets at the Netherlands central bank and served as the head of department for Payments and Securities, Export Credit, Monetary Policy Operations and Reserves Management.

As a central banker, Eloy represented the Netherlands in the ECB Markets Operations Committee, the ECB High Level Monetary Policy Implementation Task Force and the BIS Markets Committee. More recently, Eloy was a member of the Bloomberg Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the EU’s High Level Forum on Capital Markets Union and an advisory group to the IFRS Trustees on the market consultation regarding Sustainable Standard Setting.

Eloy studied business administration at Nyenrode University and international relations at the School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University, Bologna Center. He is married and has two children.

Jeb Burns

Chief Investment Officer, Municipal Employees’ Retirement System (MERS) of Michigan

As CIO, Jeb Burns directs the $11 billion investment program at MERS, leading a 10-member team of investment professionals, setting investment strategy and implementing all investment programs.

A member of the senior management team, Jeb provides strategic leadership and guidance on business strategy, public policy, organizational development, and new business initiatives. He serves as a member of the Investment Committee, chairs the Risk and Compliance Committee, and represents the fund’s global interests by serving on advisory committees for its numerous holdings.

Prior to joining MERS in 2002, Jeb held positions in public policy, communications, budget, and legislative affairs at the State of Michigan. He served as a financial advisor with Prudential Securities before entering public service.
